In addition to first class legal services, Land Law clients can expect to receive added value from our client benefits package. We are always looking for ways to add to and improve these. The following details the main benefits we currently provide:

Starting Well - Let’s Talk Tactics…

Getting your commercial property matter off on the right foot can save you time, money and help you to reach your objectives – whether that is the completion of a transaction or resolution of a property dispute – in the best way possible.

We therefore encourage you to get in touch to discuss your instruction at an early stage. We can provide you with advice on structuring and heads of terms for transactions, strategies for avoiding and resolving disputes and project planning to help ensure that everything runs as smoothly as possible from the outset.

Online Property Portals

Commercial property legal work is information driven. Be it title deeds, leases, planning information or property searches – ensuring your property information is in good order will put you at a great advantage in all your commercial property dealings and will mean you are always a step ahead. Preparation is therefore key.

At Land Law, whether you have one or one hundred properties, we collate and keep all your property information digitally. We do this using our secure client portal facility, which is currently hosted on Box.com. Once your property portal has been set up, we can provide you and your team with direct access to the information. This puts everything you may need to know about your property at your fingertips and provides you with an invaluable management tool.

We use the same portal facility to provide digital property information packs - thereby streamlining the due diligence process for your property transactions. As an invitation can be sent by email as soon as our counterpart in a transaction is instructed, provided your portal has already been pre-prepared (which we always recommend), we can hit the ground running to get your matter off to the quickest start possible. This approach is also environmentally friendly and helps us to save some trees as it avoids the necessity to send out printed folders of information!

Stress Testing Drafting

Why wait until something goes wrong to find out whether your transaction terms and the drafting of your documents will achieve the results you expect. At Land Law our property litigators are not just for litigation. An important part of their role is focused on avoiding disputes. They can team up with our real estate lawyers when they are dealing with complex drafting to offer a different perspective – by reviewing the paperwork as if the matter had come to them as part of a dispute. By running draft transaction documents through a litigation review they can look for pitfalls and advise on ways to improve drafting with a view to minimising the scope for dispute and/or unwanted consequences if disputes cannot be avoided down the line.

Sharing Knowledge

You’ve heard the phrase, “it’s not what you know it’s who you know”. We say why choose. Knowledge and understanding of property law and commercial matters is extremely important to our clients. We also think that there is great value in the shared connections and bringing our commercial property community together. Our industry relies heavily on personal relationships, from the skill of agents in bringing the right people together – matching sellers with buyers and landlords with tenants to the joint ventures and projects that help to bring developments to fruitions. There are also many experts whose skills and expertise complement our own, and who we work with on a frequent basis.

We therefore offer our clients and contacts the opportunity to get together, every year, at our property conference where we and some of the experts we work with deliver short sessions on commercial property hot topics. The talks, which enable those of our clients with professional qualifications to gain CPD, and everyone else to brush up on their legal knowledge are complimented by networking over a buffet lunch and tea and biscuits at half time. The afternoon finishes with a drinks reception and a chance to ask questions and compare notes.

The event which takes place in Altrincham, is one of the highlights of the Land Law calendar and well attended. And did we mention that every delegate receives a goodie bag to take away, which contains some Land Law corporate merchandise, sweet treats and a set of course notes for delegates to refer back to.
